Day Trip to Boulogne

Year 5 Day Trip To Boulogne - 15th June 2001

We left Danley at the unearthly hour of 6:45am. The ferry was particularly crowded, but the children appreciated the crossing - time for some breakfast!

During the day, we had lunch (either on the ramparts of the Old Town or by the sea at Le Portel). We explored the old town using a written questionnaire, and the children used some French to spend their pocket money in the shops.

At Le Portel, the children had a chance to see a French seaside town, which is not too busy or 'touristy'. We took part in the 'town trail' and had a chance to visit some more shops.

During the afternoon, all the children (in groups) were bought a drink at a café. There was one condition: they had to order it!! The children did very well in using their French.

All in all, the children throughly enjoyed the day. Check out the photos!
